An exclusive Nia fitness dance experience, using The Nia Technique, in feeding the body, mind and spirit. There is NOTHING, and I mean nothing out there that compares to the Nia experience. A program created for YOU and how YOUR body moves, without the competition, but abundant in moving, sharing and caring. It's taking that moment, JUST FOR YOU, and yet, sharing it with others. Taking time to empty out first, so there is room to fill up with all the good stuff. The music is global, with sounds from around the world, tempting you to move between dance, modern dance, ballet, jazz, the healing arts inclusive of yoga, tai chi, chi gong and the martial arts as in tae kwan doe, aikido, all rolled into a series of steps and stances and set to music so that you are moving on the dance floor for one hour. Dancing barefoot is the true art form, but one must be comfortable. There are no prerequisites. If you are able to walk, then dance is an option. If you are NOT able to walk, chair dancing is delightful and encouraged during any class, either entire class or partially. Besides the pleasure that Nia brings to the body, there are so many pluses to staying with the program... yes, even if to put it to the test. Feel stresses float away and experience ease in movements with concentration on the areas of the body you wish to zero in on, breathing, strengthening, stretching, flexibility, agility, cognitive, balance, and so on. The list is endless. Even more delightful since you are able to feel and measure the progress, the program is designed to grow with you. Think of it from the beginning as, well, I wouldn't even be moving and at this moment I am. It takes that seed, nurtures it, and allows it to grow and become healthy and strong. In 25 years teaching Nia, I learn so much from my students regarding the pluses in this program. But, don't take my word for it, don't take anyone's word for it. Try it. Dance it.
